But it is difficult to say which Bagrat, among the Abkhazian kings Bagrat III (977–1015) or Bagrat IV (1027–1072), is mentioned here, since both of them held the title of Kouropalates.

On a processional cross in Tsaishi there is an inscription: "Life-giving Cross, glorify the King of the Abkhazians, Kouropalates Bagrat."
