650 AD. Divergence of Megrelian and Laz


According to the results of lexico-statistical reconstruction of the evolution of Kartvelian languages, Klimov 1959 [1], the divergence of Megrelian and Laz (Chan) languages began around 650 AD.

670 AD. Sarmatians G2a in Bavaria


In Bavaria, a burial of six heavy cavalrymen, cataphracts, was discovered. The burial dates to 670 AD. Four of the six belonged to haplogroup R1b, two to G2a (the main one for the Western Caucasus), next to which are horse burials, sacrificed to the deceased in Sarmatian fashion (head and legs neatly arranged).
