1462–1810 AD. Principality of Abkhazia
A medieval feudal state formation in Western Transcaucasia. De facto independent since 1462 while maintaining nominal vassalage to Imereti under the title of Abkhazian mtaevarstvo. Officially — since 1491, when it, along with Guria, Svaneti and Mingrelia, left the Kingdom of Imereti. Vassal relations until 1810 — with the Ottoman Empire, after — with Russia. Ruling dynasty — the Chachba princes.
